SELF AWARENESS I'm
SELF AWARENESS
Self-awareness
this is when a person is able to understand their self-introspection. This is the
inner change that a person undergoes as a good step to personal development. In
philosophy it is the experience of one’s personality or individual. When someone
is aware of them-self they are able to focus on them-self and their actions on
why they are doing certain things, their thoughts or and emotions which might
be or not of their internal standards.
It
is has been noted that when we see ourselves clearly, we are able to be
creative and more confident in what we are doing. In that regard we are able to
make sounded decisions, create a greater relationship with the people around us
and we are able to be effective and efficient in our communication skills. Someone who is aware of themselves are able to
be honest in their well-being in society and the people around them at large.
Additionally,
when a person is highly aware of them-self, that person is able to objectively
evaluate them-self, being able to manage their emotions, align their behavior to
their values and be able to understand how people around them are able to
perceive them. Simply put that, a person who is very aware of themselves is
able to interpret their actions, feelings and their objective thoughts.
Self-development is important because it allows one to access their growth,
effectiveness and able to change course when necessary.
It
is therefore important that a person must be aware of them-self publicly or
privately. Publicly meaning that a person must care on how the society looks at
them on their way of life so that society is able to accept them as they are. A
person must be able to understand how society views them, in that way a person
is able to be empathetic to people with different personalities. Privately
meaning that a person must be able to reflect on their way of life and notice
their internal state of personality so that they are able to make the changes
where necessary. When a person understands them-self privately, they are able to
clarify their values, morals, feelings, behavior, strengths and weaknesses. In
that state a person is able to realize the impact that they have on society and
experience a sense of personal and social control.
Furthermore,
someone who is aware of them-self is able to give power to influence outcomes of
what they are doing. It helps us to make better decisions and be reliant
people, it gives us more self-confidence and as a result, we communicate with
clarity and intention. Communication being one of the most imperative aspects
of life, one must ought to make sure they are bound with good communication
skills. It allows us to understand things from multiple perspectives because we
are now developing an integrated mind and self being.
It
helps us build better relationships with the people around us and society at
large. It gives us a greater ability to regulate our emotions and be able to
make sound decisions and not decisions that will make us regret at last. It
decreases stress because when a person is aware of themselves they are able to
control fully their emotions and are made happy in that regard.
In
addition, for one to be aware of them-self they have to ask the “WHAT” question. This is so because
they are able to reflect on their life and how they live it. This kind of
introspection allows us to look at behaviors and beliefs for what they are. Sometimes, people intend to ask the “WHY” question yet there is no way to
answer that question as we don’t have the access to our unconscious and come up
with decisions and answers to questions that may not be too accurate. They why
question drives us to the rabbit hole which are the negative thoughts.
However,
a person can becoming self-aware if they keep an open mind, be mindful of your
strengths and weaknesses, stay focused, know your emotional triggers, set
boundaries, embrace your intuition, practice self-discipline, consider how your
actions affect others, apologize when necessary, ask for feedback.
In
conclusion, there is something that you know that other people do not know
about you, there is also something that you do not know and other people know
about you and there is something that you and other people all know. Thus, it
is important that a person is aware of them-self because it helps them to do the
right things at the right time. A person who is aware is always focused, cares
about themselves and people around them. Being aware makes one have good
communication and maintain good relationship with all people, they become
people who add value to society.
